Celebrating World Vegan Day with HumaniTea’s oat milk tea lattes

About World Vegan Day

Now in its 30th year, World Vegan Day – on 1st November annually – was founded in 1994 by Louise Wallis, who was Chair of The Vegan Society in the UK at the time, which commemorated the organisation’s 50th anniversary. Today, it is a celebration of veganism observed by millions worldwide, inspiring people to make compassionate and sustainable choices in their diets and other areas of sustainability.

World Vegan Day marks the start of World Vegan Month in November and follows on from World Vegetarian Month in October.

The benefits of veganism

Whether going full vegan or just eating and drinking more animal and meat-free alternatives, veganism has multiple health and environmental benefits. These include:

  • Reducing the risk of chronic disease
  • Improving cholesterol levels
  • Vegan diets are rich in fibre, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants
  • Vegan diets can also help with weight management, which HumaniTea drinks can too as they tackle the problem of obesity-causing sugary soft drinks
  • Adopting a plant-based diet helps reduce land usage, water usage and carbon gas emissions
  • Less animals suffering

Celebrating World Vegan Day with HumaniTea

Our vegan oat milk tea lattes are popular with both vegans and non-vegans alike, with many liking the fact we use oat milk instead of dairy, the health benefits, and align with our mission of a more sustainable environment. But there are countless ways you can enjoy HumaniTea drinks beyond just drinking them straight from the can while still keeping everything vegan as well:

1. Bake some vegan banana bread

Vegan banana bread made using HumaniTea's Earl Grey tea latte.

Banana bread is incredibly popular these days amongst avid bakers. We recently tried making some of our own using HumaniTea as an ingredient and it was definitely a great success! Check out the recipe here.

2. Mix up some smoothies

Who doesn’t love a delicious smoothie mixed with lots of your favourite and healthy ingredients in? We tried adding our Matcha and Earl Grey drinks to come up with two new concoctions you could try!

3. Make some ice lollies and milkshakes

It may not be summer right now but that doesn’t mean ice lollies and milkshakes can’t still be enjoyed! We experimented by adding our teas to these recipes and weren’t disappointed with the results…

4. Prepare some overnight oats

Overnight oats are very popular nowadays, especially for those who are perhaps too busy in the morning to prepare breakfast. We added our oat milk tea lattes to some overnight oats we made one evening and loved them!

5. Sip some HumaniTea-infused cocktails

A cocktail every now and then never hurt anybody… We rustled up a couple of yummy cocktails using our Matcha and Earl Grey drinks, which you can try at home, swapping out different alcohol (or going for a non-alcoholic version). Many distilled spirits are vegan too! We recommend Mothaiba‘s pandan-flavoured vodka and one of the many Southeast Asian-inspired flavours of gin from Tarsier Spirit for those extra kicks.

Other recipes you could try for World Vegan Day and beyond include:

Additionally, you could challenge yourself to include HumaniTea into your diet and lifestyle for the month. For example:

  • Drink one can a day – either straight from the can (from the fridge or even room temperature), in a glass or in a smoothie, or by heating it up in a pan
  • You can drink it on its own, as part of a meal or if you are doing any physical activity, before, during or after it
  • Use it to make at least one of the recipes above once a week
  • If you eat cereal, add HumaniTea to it instead of regular milk

If you want to, you can also keep track of your health when consuming HumaniTea, whether that’s your blood, sugar and cholesterol levels, weight, your mindfulness and focus, your gut health or anything else, and hopefully you will understand the benefits of it firsthand!
