HumaniTea X JIN JIN- our collaboration

We are very excited to share that HumaniTea and JIN JIN have joined forces this week, as JIN JIN embark on their adventure in a new working space in East London. 

HumaniTea is so happy that we are the first brand JIN JIN chose to collaborate with, and now you get to read about our project here!

 

What is JIN JIN?

JIN JIN was set up by Sohn Supradya Aursudkij after being introduced to a delicious natural enzyme drink from Asia. She wanted to make something similar in the UK, so she created JIN JIN which keeps your gut healthy and boosts your physical and mental wellbeing.

A small bottle is packed with probiotics and enzymes from 35 raw and natural ingredients with fruit and vegetable concentrate. Mix JIN JIN with drinks or pair with your food to help aid digestion and absorb nutrients. You can find out more about the wonderful company here!

JIN JIN is Sohn’s mothers name and the colours of the brand reflect her mothers favourite colours. Everything to do with the brand is personal to her (which we will find out more in the interview below).

 

Our collaboration

On Friday 17th September, Tina and Megan from HumaniTea joined Sohn and Isabel from JIN JIN for a morning of fun, recipes, and interviews! Find out how we made delicious drinks using a bottle of JIN JIN and HumaniTea’s Earl Grey Oat Milk Classic Tea Latte and Matcha Oat Milk Green Tea Latte below.

HumaniTea and JIN JIN cocktail recipe: 

Ingredients for the shaken method:

  • 20ml JIN JIN 
  • 200ml Earl Grey Tea Latte
  • Chocolate powder
  • Ice 

How to make:

  • Place ice into the cocktail shaker
  • Add 20ml of JIN JIN and 200ml of Earl Grey into the shaker
  • Shake for 30 seconds and add ice to the glass
  • Strain the mixture into the glass and finish with a teaspoon of chocolate powder

Ingredients for the stirred method:

  • 20ml JIN JIN 
  • 200ml Matcha Tea Latte
  • Matcha powder
  • Ice 

How to make:

  • Place ice into a glass
  • Add 20ml of JIN JIN and 200ml of Earl Grey into the glass
  • Stir for one minute to mix it all up
  • Add a teaspoon of matcha powder on top of the mixture

Interview with founder Sohn: 

How did the brand start and why?

I started it because my husband has really bad eczema, he was on steroids and antibiotics for 17 years. His world became smaller and smaller as he refused to leave the house or see friends, every time he took the tube he would hide his hands. It affected him mentally and physically and I tried everything to help him. 

Nothing worked as well as we hoped for. One day my dad introduced me to this enzyme based drink and it was delicious! We drank it daily and it gave us a natural energy boost… then my husband’s eczema improved massively which was shocking and magical. We then couldn’t get our hands on this drink anymore, it was nowhere to be found in Europe and the place my dad got it from had closed. 

I decided to fly to Taiwan to find out who made this drink. I researched gut health and enzymes, and because I knew it benefitted my husband, I knew it would benefit others so I decided to bring it to the UK. I think it is so easy to look over our wellbeing and I think our wellbeing is really important because if you feel good, you spread goodness! 

 

What has it been like being a woman-led business?

For me, I don’t see any difference. I’m really extroverted, I’m friendly, I’m really outgoing, I think women and men are quite equal so for me, nothing is really different. I haven’t come across anything dodgy yet… but I’ll always treat people how they treat me. 

 

What has been the most challenging thing so far?

I think the journey itself because I work alone. I’ve done the design, the importing, the drinks, selling, marketing, social media, up until I had my team join me recently. I don’t have any background in business, so sometimes I don’t deliver what I want to deliver. I’m still learning as I’m going along, but I do like the difficulty, I do like a challenge, it keeps me going! A little milestone also keeps me going, like us being able to have our own space to work. 

What drink do you like to mix with JIN JIN?

I like mixing JIN JIN with sparkling water and a slice of lime- oh, and HumaniTea! Just had it today… I am actually really picky with my drinks, so the perfect sparkling water for me would be San Pel as it’s not as fizzy, the PH level is perfect, so I love that! The lime makes it more sharp and refreshing- It’s thirst quenching. 

 

What plans do you have for the future?

I want to partner with more charities. Right now we partner with One Tree Planted, so every bottle of JIN JIN sold means we plant one tree. I want to make a difference in the world…. I also want JIN JIN to be more accessible to everyone, I want more people to learn about it and to see it in a restaurant. I want to be able to go somewhere and say “can I have a glass of JIN JIN.”
